Christo-style “drapé”

What a beauty ! What a splendor!

Today we pay tribute to Christo who passed away last year.

Drapery has been omnipresent in fashion for centuries, even millennia (cf the Greco-Roman statues).

The tightly worn Christo-style “drapé” is less common.

Here are some examples found among our archives on this topic:

Richard Quinn and Palmer Harding’s outfits are interesting because the “drapé” plunges to wrap around the shoes. The photography of Willi Kismer is also reminiscent of the works of Christo and Jeanne Claude with its retaining ropes.

We have also found in our documentary collection the shoes that perfectly match the outfit !
